responsibility that the method of attachment and usage

ingequipment.Someofthefactorstobeconsideredare
asfollows:
1.Designcapacityoftrailervs.weightofLincolnequip-
mentandlikelyadditionalattachments.
2.Proper support of, and attachment to, the base of
the welding equipment so there will be no undue
stresstotheframework.
3.Properplacementoftheequipmentonthetrailerto
ensurestabilitysidetosideandfronttobackwhen
being moved and when standing by itself while
beingoperatedorserviced.
4.Typicalconditionsofuse,i.e.,travelspeed,rough-
nessofsurfaceonwhichthetrailerwillbeoperat-
ed;environmentalconditions,likelymaintenance.

Where there is a combustible surface directly under sta-
tionary or fixed electrical equipment, the surface shall
be covered with a steel plate at least .06”(1.6mm) thick,
which shall extend not more than 5.90”(150mm) beyond
the equipment on all sides.

MACHINE GROUNDING
According to the United States National Electrical
Code, the frame of this portable generator is not
requiredtobegroundedandispermittedtoserveas
the grounding means for cord connected equipment
pluggedintoitsreceptacle.
Somestate,local,orothercodesorunusualoperating
circumstances may require the machine frame to be
grounded.Itisrecommendedthatyoudeterminethe
extenttowhichsuchrequirementsmayapplytoyour
particular situation and follow them explicitly. A
machinegroundingstudmarkedwiththesymbolis
providedontheweldinggeneratorframefoot.Ingen-
eral, if the machine is to be grounded, it should be
connected with a #8 or larger copper wire to a solid
earth ground such as a metal water pipe going into
thegroundforatleasttenfeetandhavingnoinsulat-
ed joints, or to the metal framework of a building
which has been effectively grounded. The U.S.
National Code lists a number of alternate means of
groundingelectricalequipment.
CAUTION
ANGLE OF OPERATION
Engines are designed to run in the level condition
which is where the optimum performance is achieved.
The maximum angle of continuous operation is 20º
degreesinalldirections,30ºintermittent(lessthan10
minutescontinuous)inalldirections.
