4 - Mounting instructions
WARNING
Installation has to be carried out by
qualified personnel only, with power
supply disconnected and mechanical
parts compulsorily in stop.
Protect the device against knocks, frictions, solvents
as well as under and over temperatures. Please
never stretch the cable. Do not pull or carry by
cable. Do not use the cable as a handle. we suggest
installing the unit providing protection means
against waste, especially swarf as turnings, chips, or
filings; should this not be possible, please make sure
that adequate cleaning measures (as for instance
brushes, scrapers, jets of compressed air, etc.) are in
place in order to prevent the sensor and the
magnetic ring from jamming.
WARNING
Observe precautions for handling
electrostatic discharge sensitive
devices.
4.1 Installing the sensor
Make sure that the mechanical system complies
with the parallelism tolerances between the sensor
1
and the magnet ring
2
.
Fix the sensor
1
by means of
two M4 20 mm min.
long screws
inserted through the provided holes.
Bushings are designed to accept
TCEI M4 x 20
cylinder head bolts 3
on one side and
TSP M4 x
20 countersunk head bolts 4
on the other side.
Cylinder head bolts
3
allow a slight play useful for
centring the sensor
1
Countersunk head bolts
4
allow an accurate “self-
centring” installation (Figure 4).
Please always comply with the mounting tolerances
indicated in the section “4.3 Mounting tolerances”.
4.2 Installing the magnetic ring
Use the MRI / 72 magnetic ring. For any information
refer to the specific technical documentation. The
arrow in Figure 1 indicates the standard counting
direction (count up information, the rising edge of
channel A leads the rising edge of channel B).
