NOTE: For the best possible protection, install one detector inside
or near each room with any type of combustion device, e.g. gas
fireplace, central heating boiler, space heater or water heater,
cookers, grills, etc.
ATTENTION:
This detector only indicates carbon monoxide pres-
ent at the sensor. Carbon monoxide gas may also be present in
other areas.
CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS ARE NOT A SUBSTI-
TUTE FOR SMOKE OR GAS DETECTORS.
CO DETECTOR PLACEMENT
Carbon monoxide has a density similar to warm air. For best results,
install the detector at least 1.5 m above the floor and 1.85 m from
the respective appliance (Fig. D). Avoid these areas:
- Areas where the temperature may be below -10 °C or above
40 °C.
- Moist or humid areas.
- Any area where elevated levels of dust, dirt or oily emissions may
contaminate or congest the sensor.
