12360 Three-Way Switch
The 12360 Three-Way Switch includes
two 12010 Switch Drives. To prevent
the drives from interfering with each
other, the included diode must be
installed on the 51750 between the
orange terminals for the drives (Fig. 5).
12260 Double-Slip Switch
To install the 12260 Double-Slip
Switch, you need at least two short
track sections 10050, 10090 or 11040.
The tie ends of these track sections can
be snapped off to allow installation with
the 12260. Alternatively, you can cut
the tie ends of standard LGB track sec-
tions with a razor saw or a sharp knife.
Hint: If a train passes through a dou-
ble-slip switch despite some of the
points being set in the "wrong" direc-
tion, the train will “open” the points.
However, some of the points may
remain between the two positions. This
can cause a derailment of the next
train.
Multi-Train System
The LGB drives of LGB electric switch-
es can be operated with the 55024/25
MTS Switch Decoders (Fig. 5). However,
you can also operate your switches
conventionally with the LGB system
while controlling your trains with the
Multi-Train System. For more informa-
tion on the Multi-Train System, see your
local LGB retailer.
Power Supply
Attention! For safety and reliability,
operate this model with LGB power
supplies (transformers, power packs
and controls) only. The use of non-LGB
power supplies will void your warranty.
For more information on LGB power
supplies for indoor, outdoor and multi-
train operation, see the LGB catalog.
Hint: On analog layouts (i.e., switches
controlled by 51750 or directly by
17100), we strongly recommend a dedi-
cated AC power source, like the
51080/51081 or 50110/50111 AC
Transformers.
SERVICE
Attention! Improper service will void
your warranty. For quality service, con-
tact your authorized retailer or an LGB
factory service station (see Authorized
Service).
LGB switches require some mainte-
nance, particularly when used out-
doors:
• For reliable operation, switches
should be kept free of dirt and debris.
• Do not lubricate LGB drives.
• In wet weather, LGB drives should be
protected from flooding. Mount the
switch drives so that water drains
away from them, instead of pooling
around them.
• In winter, LGB switch drives outdoors
should be covered.
