Reset the HCS7720
Use the following procedure to reset the HCS7720.
1. Connect a PC to the HCS7720 Service Port, and access the Main Menu as described on
page 15.
2. At the Main Menu
Command >
prompt, type the menu command that corresponds to the
Reset Transcoder
option and press
Enter
.
The system resets the HCS7720. During the reset process, several pages of status and
diagnostic messages may be displayed. After reset, the system displays the System
Information banner and Main Menu prompt, and the HCS7720 resumes normal operation.
Update HCS7720 Firmware
If you are not sure of the current firmware version, view and record the System Information for
the transcoder before you initiate the firmware update. See “View System Information” above.
1. Confirm the directory location of the required firmware update configuration (.cfg) and
package (.pkg) files. Note: For a TFTP file transfer, the firmware update files must be
available on the same machine as the TFTP server.
2. Connect a PC to the HCS7720 Service Port, and access the Main Menu as described on
page 15.
3. At the Main Menu
Command >
prompt, type the menu command that corresponds to the
Update Firmware
option and press
Enter
.
The Firmware Update Menu is displayed:
