9. Remove the microprocessor. See “Replacing the microprocessor” on page 85.
10. Remove the memory module. See “Installing or replacing a memory module” on page 77.
11. Remove the battery. See “Replacing the battery” on page 78.
12. Remove the WI-FI card. See “Replacing the WI-FI card” on page 88.
13. Remove the microprocessor fan. See “Replacing the microprocessor fan assembly” on page 95.
14. Remove the 10 screws

that secure the system board to the main bracket. Carefully lift the system
board out of the chassis.
15. Install the new system board into the chassis and align the screw holes with those in the chassis.
16. Install the 10 screws 1 that secure the system board to the main bracket.
17. Reinstall the memory module. See “Installing or replacing a memory module” on page 77.
18. Reinstall the battery. See “Replacing the battery” on page 78.
19. Reinstall the microprocessor. See “Replacing the microprocessor” on page 85.
20. Reinstall the heat sink. See “Replacing the heat sink” on page 83.
21. Reinstall the WI-FI card. See “Replacing the WI-FI card” on page 88.
22. Reinstall the microprocessor fan. See “Replacing the microprocessor fan assembly” on page 95.
23. Reinstall the wall mount cover and wall mount to gain access to the system board. See “Removing or
reinstalling the wall mount cover” on page 75 and “Removing or reinstalling the wall mount” on page 76.
24. Reconnect all cables that were disconnected from the system board. See “System board connectors”
on page 70.
25. Go to “Completing the parts replacement” on page 110.
The failing system board must be returned with a microprocessor socket cover to protect the pins during
shipping and handling.
