Note: When there is only one memory module on you computer, ensure that the
memory module is installed in the memory slot 1.
To replace a memory module, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and
the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and
disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Remove the front cover. See “Removing the front cover” on page 83.
3. Lay the computer on its side for easier access to the system board.
4. Locate the memory slot. See “Locating parts on the system board” on page
45.
5. Open the retaining clips and gently pull the memory module out of the
memory slot.
