Chapter 6. FRU Removals

These removals are to be done by trained service technicians only.

Important:

Before you install or remove any option read “Safety information” on

page 93. These precautions and guidelines will help you work safely.

Front panel card

To remove the front panel card do the following:

1.

Turn off the computer and peripheral devices and disconnect all external cables
and power cords; then remove the cover. See “Removing the cover” on page 20.

2.

Disconnect all cables attached to the front panel card.

3.

Remove the 2 screws holding the card to the chassis and lift off.

CD-ROM paddle card

To remove the CD-ROM paddle card do the following:

1.

Turn off the computer and peripheral devices and disconnect all external cables
and power cords; then remove the cover. See “Removing the cover” on page 20.

2.

Remove the CD-ROM. See “Accessing system board components” on page 21.
