Turn off the power
In order to minimize power consumption, set the power switch to the "OFF" position
after
using the equipment to turn off the power.
Automatic standby
When the power switch is set to the "ON" position, if there is no audio signal, for approximately five
minutes, the IPD-4500 system will automatically shut off the system power to enter the standby mode. In
standby mode, the indicator light on the power switch will flash green
, and when the audio
signal resumes, press the power key on the remote control again, or move the power switch on the IPD-
4500 system to the “ON” position again after setting the power switch to “OFF” position, and the IPD-
4500 system will be ready to play.
Although this mode can reduce power consumption, it does not completely shut off the IPD-4500 system.
In order to minimize power drain, it is recommended that the power switch be set to the "OFF" position if
the IPD-4500 system is not to be used for a long time.
Built-in NI-MH rechargeable batteries
1. There are Nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries built into the IPD-4500 system.
Plug the barrel plug on the adapter into the jack marked
on the operating panel of the IPD-
4500 system, and then plug the external 9 V DC@ 2A power supply adapter into an AC wall outlet. After
this connection is completed, the rechargeable batteries in the IPD-4500 system can be charged whether
the system is being played or not. If there is an
iPod®/iPhone®
with a 30PIN connector connected to the
iPod®/iPhone®
socket of the IPD-4500 system, then the
iPod®/iPhone®
can be charged at the same time.
2. The LED light between the
power switch
on the panel of the IPD-4500 system
and the
iPod®/iPhone®
socket
is the
charger power level indicator light
.
In the OFF mode:
a. When the AC IN cord is not plugged in: the light is off
b. When the AC IN cord is plugged in: if the power level is sufficient — the light is off
Charging – the green light flashes
In the ON mode:
a. When the AC IN cord is not plugged in: if the startup power level is sufficient for normal use —
the green light is on
Warning of insufficient power level — the red light is on
The power is depleted — the light is off.
b. When the AC IN cord is plugged in, if the power level is sufficient — the green light is on
Charging — the green light flashes
Signs of abnormal battery activity:
a. When the unit is not plugged into an external power supply, no power is available to the IPD-4500 – or
the power light is off.
b. When the IPD-4500 is plugged into an external power supply – The red light flashes.
Note: "Abnormal battery condition" refers to an abnormal state caused by improper installation or use of
the battery or other problems including damage to the battery, incorrect battery polarity, lack of a
battery or end of life of the battery.
