Mains
The multiplexer in TM-81-1-1 version can be powered with both DC and AC voltage; the
latter with the frequency of 50 - 60 Hz and rated value of 110 - 230 V. Changing the power
supply mains voltage from 230 V to 110 V and vice versa does not require any modifications
of device settings.
The mains socket the multiplexer is connected to should be equipped with neutral
(zero) pin.
Connection to the power network without neutral wire is permitted,
provided the
grounding terminal located on rear panel is connected to ground.
Simultaneous grounding through grounding terminal and neutral earthing through
power cord is not allowed.
Connecting the multiplexer to this power loop from which equipment capable to emit
significant pulse interferences, like commutator motors, discharge lamps etc. should be
avoided. To ensure maximum reliability, use of the UPS power supply unit is much recom-
mended.
Note: Double fuse - phase/neutral. Every mains power cord is protected by separate fuse
installed inside the multiplexer.
Some elements of power supply unit, located at the PCB, may be live.
For versions with 110
÷
230 V mains power supply (TM-81-1-1) the plug on power
cord also plays a role of circuit-breaking element. Therefore the mains socket should be
installed possibly close to the device and should be easily accessible to the personnel.
Battery pack
Multiplexer in the TM-81-1-2 version is supplied with DC voltage with rated value
within the range of 24
÷
50 V.
Supply voltage should be fed to the socket with external screw connectors. Polarity of supply
voltage is not significant and can be chosen arbitrarily. Grounding terminal located on the
device housing should be connected to ground. Grounding wire should feature with low im-
pedance at high frequencies.
The device designed for supplying from 24
÷
50 V DC source (TM-81-1-2) is not
equipped with built-in circuit breaker, therefore it is recommended to install an easily
accessible circuit-breaking device in fixed cabling.
