Figure No. 23 illustrates the position of jumpers for setting the zero modem in the RS-232
interface configuration.
Note: It is very important to set RS-485 terminating jumpers to OFF when setting
the device to RS-232 interface. Wrong positions of RS-485 bus biasing jumpers may
cause improper operation of the RS-232 interface.
Figure 24 shows positions of RS-485 interface terminating jumpers set to OFF. Setting the
termination and bias jumpers to ON is justified only when the type of interface is configured
to RS-485.
Note: In case the interface type is set to RS-485, the DTR
↔
DSR, RTS
↔
CTS, and
DCD jumpers should be removed, otherwise the RS-485 interface may work incorrectly.
