Assembly and Set-Up

Tractor Requirements

The CA05 Series Core Aerator is designed with a pull type 
hitch for hitching behind tractors, lawn tractors, utility 
vehicles, or ATVs. with a drawbar.

Unloading Instructions

CAUTION

!

To avoid minor or moderate injury:  
Never allow anyone under the unit while unloading.

Gently set the two boxes down on a smooth, flat surface. 
Carefully remove unit to protect the finish. Verify all 
fasteners and parts are included. Refer to the Parts 
Manual on our website (www.landpride.com) if unsure.

Torque Requirements

Refer to 

“Torque Values Chart” 

on page 21 to determine 

correct torque values when tightening hardware. 

Dealer Assembly

This is aerator is shipped unassembled. Assembly of this 
unit is the dealership’s responsibility. Review all safety 
instructions in this manual before assembling the Aerator.

Hitch Assembly

Refer to Figure 1-1:

1.

Attach hitch straps (#1) to the tongue (#2) with 
1/2"-13 x 2 3/4" GR5 cap screws (#4) and hex nylock 
nuts (#7). Tighten nuts to the correct torque.

2. Orient weight tray (#3) as shown with Serial 

Number (#8) positioned to the front. 

3. Attach tongue (#2) to weight tray (#3) with 

3/8"-16 x 2 1/4" GR5 cap screws (#5) and hex nylock 
nuts (#6). Tighten nuts to the correct torque.

Spoon Assembly

Refer to Figure 1-2:

1.

Install one self tapping grease zerk (#2) to gang 
spool (#1). 

2. Orient all eight aerator spoons (#5) so that their open 

sides are facing the same direction the gang 
spool (#1) rotates. 

3. With spoons oriented correctly, attach them to the 

outside surfaces of the gang spool flanges with 
1/4"-20 x 1 1/4" GR5 cap screws (#3) and hex nylock 
nuts (#4). Tighten nuts to the correct torque.

4. When assembled correctly, the gang assembly of 

eight spoons should look like Figure 1-3.

5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 until all spoons and grease zerks 

are assembled to the gang spools.

NOTE:  

Very light tractors may need additional 

ballast to maintain steering control. See your 
tractor’s Operator’s Manual to determine if additional 
ballast is required.
