Unhook Offset Flail Mower
DANGER
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
A crushing hazard exists while hooking-up and unhooking the
implement. Keep people and animals away while backing-up
to the implement or pulling away from the implement. Do not
operate hydraulic controls while a person or animal is directly
behind the power machine or near the implement.
WARNING
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
Always follow “Tractor Shutdown Procedure” provided in
this manual before dismounting the tractor.
•
Always store mower with the flail head resting on the
ground and 3-point hitch supported on the parking stands to
prevent mower tipping hazard.
on page 56 if unit is to be
stored for a long time.
2. Lower the 3-point hitch until slightly higher than its
final resting height.
3. Without changing the 3-point hitch height, shut
tractor down properly before dismounting. Refer to
4. Adjust park stands down to support the mower hitch
at an acceptable height.
Refer to Figure 3-10:
5. Restart tractor and continue to lower the 3-point hitch
until it is resting on the park stands and the top center
link is centered in the hitch frame slot.
6. Shut tractor down properly before dismounting. Refer
to
7.
Unhook driveline (#1) by pulling back on the driveline
pull collar or pushing down on the driveline push pin
while pulling the driveline from the tractor’s power
take-off shaft.
8. Collapse driveline (#1) by pushing tractor end of the
driveline toward the flail mower.
9. Support collapsed driveline (#1) in the driveline hook
on the 3-point hitch frame. This will keep the
universal joint and coupler out of the dirt and make
for an easier hook-up.
10. Disconnect hydraulic hoses (#2) from the tractor,
install coupler caps (#3) over the end of hydraulic
hose couplers, and store hydraulic hoses in their
hose holder clips (#4) to keep them out of the dirt.
Refer to Figure 3-11:
11. Remove top center linchpin (#5), washer (#6), and
hitch pin (#7). If provided, place the center 3-point
link (#8) in the tractor’s holding clip.
12. Reinstall center hitch pin (#7), washer (#6), and
linchpin (#5) in the upper clevis (#9).
13. Remove linchpins (#10), washers (#11), and hitch
pins (#12) from the lower 3-point lift arms (#13).
