BOILER MAINTENANCE
USER INFORMATION
The operations that the user can perform on the boiler are only as follows:
- Check the quantity of water in the boiler and in the plant (at least once a week)
- Unlock the circulators when they have been inactive for over 15 days (turn the main switch off, unscrew the
chromed screw on the circulators (the leakage of some water is normal) and free the rotor with a screwdriver)
- Unlock the safety thermostat and the reset pushbutton (if boiler is locked-out)
- Check the anode - SIMPLETEST
-: when the small red knob on the anode is rotated in counter clockwise
direction, no water must leak. If water leaks, the anode has reached an 80% wear. Contact the Technical
Service to replace it
If this check is not performed, the water heater guarantee will not be valid anymore, and the water
heater integrity will be impaired.
- In case of doubts, or if the boiler reset operations must be performed more than three times, contact a
qualified technician.
BOILER IGNITION
- Open the gas tap
- Switch the main switch on
- Set the boiler thermostat to minimum
- Set the adjustment thermostat and the priority thermostat to the desired temperatures.
- Set the hot water adjustment thermostat
The fan pilot lamp will light up and gas will start exiting from the main burner; at the same time, the igniter
will set the spark. After at most 10 seconds, the igniter will stop and the burner will remain on. Should any
failures be noted during ignition, or if you cannot ignite the boiler after having performed all operations
correctly, contact a qualified technician. Set the summer/winter switch to the desired position. Check and
adjust the clock and/or room thermostat if any.
BOILER SHUT OFF
Turn the main switch off.
Close the manual gas on-off valve placed outside the boiler or outside the boiler room.
WARNING:
if the boiler or parts of the plant can go below 0°C, introduce anti-freeze into the plant.
WARNINGS
Have the boiler inspected every year by a qualified technician to check its efficiency and wear, and to check
that the same is perfectly cleaned.
Check the water heater anode every 6 months. If the same is worn out, replace it so as to prevent rust formation
in the hot water and piercing in the water heater caused by electrochemical corrosion.
