FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question:
Why is my snack not cooking?
Answer:
Check that the Stack-a-Snack is switched on at the socket and wait for the
green ready light before you start cooking.
Question:
Why are ingredients escaping through the sides of the Stack-a-Snack?
Answer:
The hotplates may not be fully heated up, or the Stack-a-Snack may be too
full. Wait for the green ready light before adding food to the hotplates, and
reduce the amount of ingredients.
Question:
Egg is sticking when the upper hotplate is removed.
Answer:
The egg has cooked onto the ring. Ease it away from the edge with a plastic
or wooden turner, and next time spray or brush the rings with a little
cooking oil.
Question:
My sweet snack is browning/toasting too quickly.
Answer:
Sweetened breads such as fruit loaf brown faster. Reduce the cooking time
and lift the lid to check if your snack has toasted enough.
Question:
Why hasn’t all the food warmed through?
Answer:
There may be too many ingredients. Reduce the number of fillings to let the
food heat through more evenly. Never use frozen food, and remember that
chilled food may need longer cooking.
Question:
Why is my food is cooking too slowly?
Answer:
The rings and upper hotplate may not be properly in place. Ensure they
are properly slotted into the hotplate hinges when the Stack-a-Snack is
heating up. They should sit flat on the lower hotplate with the upper
hotplate handle on the left-hand side.
Question:
Why is my egg overcooked and my toast too brown?
Answer:
When cooking foods with higher fat content, fewer ingredients, scrambled
eggs or egg white, or precooked foods, you may need to reduce the cooking
time. Lift the lid to check your snack as it cooks.
