CLEANING THE DIGITAL ESPRESSO MAKER
We recommend cleaning the water tank once a month, or more frequently in hard
water areas.
1. Mix 800ml of cold water and 200ml of white wine vinegar and pour into the
water tank.
2. Put a filter into the portafilter, with NO ground coffee present. Make sure the
portafilter is in place otherwise hot water will spit out and may scald.
3. Attach the portafilter to the appliance with the handle by the “unlock”
position, turn the handle anticlockwise until it is at the “lock” position.
4. Place your espresso cup on the drip plate. Make sure the steam control knob is on the
“DOT” position.
5. Plug in and switch on at the socket. The control panel will illuminate and show On/off
button, press the button and the other icons will start flashing. The appliance will start
heating. When the control panel illuminates fully and stops flashing, it shows the pre-
heating is finished.
6. Press double cup (2 cup) button once to make hot water for about 100ml.
7. Then turn off the appliance and leave the descaling solution in the appliance for
5 minutes.
8. Turn on the appliance and repeat the Step 2 for 3 times.
9. To clean the steam wand, with a jug with come water in underneath it, press the
steam button on the control panel and it will flash, when the steam button has
stopped flashing, then turn the water/steam control knob anticlockwise to the steam/
hot water position, steam will come out from the steam wand. Do this for about
3 minutes.
10. Then repeat the Step 2 for 2 times with fresh tap water in the water tank filled to the
MAX level (it is not necessary to wait for 5 minutes). For both the espresso maker and
the steam wand.
11. Wash all removable parts in hot soapy water and dry thoroughly.
