F71/F41 Teslameter
2.4.1 Field Control
Module
The F71/F41 teslameter can be fitted with a field control option card that provides a
high precision control voltage output for electromagnet systems. The stable and
accurate probe field measurement completes the closed-loop control configuration.
The instrument, probe, power supply, magnet, and control parameters play import-
ant roles in establishing stable field control. See section 3.5.2.
Field control is only available for single-axis probes. The averaging window does not
affect field control behavior.
The field control option card's only connection is to the J4 connector on the main
board. See the separate installation instructions that came with the option card if you
are adding the option card yourself.
2.4.2 Line Input
Assembly
This section describes how to properly connect the F71/F41 teslameter to line power.
Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure proper operation of the instru-
ment and the safety of operators.
2.4.2.1 Power Cord
The F71/F41 teslameter includes a 3-conductor power cord that mates with the IEC
320-C14 line cord receptacle. Line voltage is present on the two outside conductors
and the center conductor is a safety ground. The safety ground attaches to the instru-
ment chassis and protects the user in case of a component failure.
Always plug the power cord into an easily accessible, properly grounded receptacle to
ensure safe instrument operation.
If the power supply cord is damaged or lost, it must be replaced. Contact Lake Shore for a
replacement to ensure proper voltage, current and type of cord.
