T
he heating plate is a cast iron plate heated by a high-power gas burner. It can be used as a work
surface and several saucepans can be placed on it at the same time.
C
ast iron stores and retains heat uniformly over its entire surface and it is possible to cook or simmer
dishes depending on the temperature. Using the heating plate is ideal for cooking a pot au feu, coq
au vin, warming a veal or fish stock or even binding a sauce.

y removing the central plug of the plate, the burner can be used as a traditional flame burner.

Description
T
he heating plate is made entirely of cast iron. It consists of two parts, the main part rests directly on
the cooking surface and the other removable plug part is located in the middle of the plate.

Use
B
efore using your heating plate for the first time, it is advisable to pre-heat the heating plate with the
burner set to the low flame position. When the simmer plate is sufficiently hot, turn off the burner and
moderately grease the plate (the oil must not run over the hob) with a cloth soaked in vegetable oil.
W
hen you have performed this operation 3 or 4 times the plate will not look attractive. It will take
on different shades before it becomes uniformly grey/black with the oil, but the cast-iron will be
protected against rusting. After this preparation stage strip the plate with steel wool and perform
standard cleaning (see “cleaning” section) using a special cast-iron cleaning product.

emove the plug from the heating plate by means of the lever rod provided.
S
imultaneously press down onto and turn the burner dial counterclockwise to setting .
P
ress the ignition button while maintaining pressure on burner dial for about 20
seconds to initialise safety
A
reduced flowrate position identified by the mark produces the preset
minimum burner power (low flame).
R
eplace the plug.
T
o turn off, turn the control knob clockwise to the
« » position.
T
he control knob returns to its initial position, the latching mechanism operates
and the gas safety cut-out is activated several seconds after the burner goes
out.
