This procedure is to be done before each use, af ter
servicing the torch, and at least once a year.

Description

1

High Pressure Gas Gauge capable of
reading up to 35 PSIG

A.  PREPARATION

1.

Close valve at propane gas supply container.

2.

Allow heater to burn off remaining gas.

3.

Close manual burner valve on torch.

B.  GAUGE INSTALLATION

1.

Remove pressure tap plug on regulator. See Fig. 2.

2.

Connect the gas gauge to the regulator.

FIG. 2

C.  READING PRESSURES

1.

Open the fuel supply valve. Light the torch. With the
torch lit, the pressure gauge should read 25 PSIG.

2.

Is the pressure 25 PSIG? If so, no further checking is
required.  Proceed to section D.

3.

If not, check the following:

-- Incorrect regulator for torch.

-- Regulator out of adjustment.  (Replace the

regulator.)

-- Insufficient size or quantity of propane supply

containers.

D.  COMPLETION

1.

Once the proper pressure has been confirmed, close
fuel supply valve.

2.

After allowing heater to burn off fuel remaining in gas
hose, close manual valve on torch.

3.

Remove gauge and install plug into regulator,
tightening securely. Check for gas leaks.

Service Instructions

10

Close the fuel supply valves to the torch and allow the
torch to cool before servicing

Do not push instruments into the burner orifice hole.
Doing so may enlarge or distor t the hole creating
improper combustion,or burner flame blow out.

-- Use only a soft brush, dry rag, or pressurized air to

clean the burner orifice.

Do not use pliers to loosen or tighten torch components.
Doing so may round off the component creating service
problems.  Use the appropriate wrench.

Leak check all gas connections after performing service
work.  Use approved leak detectors.
