Shipping the SB118
The optional
L ACOUSTICS
®
SB118PLA
dolly board (see Figure 2) can be secured to the SB118 enclosure by
inserting the two captive dolly board pins in the front locator studs (see Figure 3) thus allowing easy transportation and
protection of the enclosure.
It is recommended to use the
L ACOUSTICS
®
SB118COV
protective cover (see Figure 2) in
conjunction with the
SB118PLA
.
6.2
Stacking or flying the SB118
The SB118 rigging system allows several setups in stacked configurations such as:
•
Stacking a vertical array of up to 8 SB118 enclosures using the fully integrated stacking runners and runner
guides (see Figure 3).
•
Mounting an XT enclosure using the built-in 35 mm/1.4 inch pole mount socket (see Figure 3) to easily
create a compact FOH system.
A maximum of eight SB118 enclosures can be stacked one on one so as to build a vertical array.
Secure each array with a ratchet strap or any other suitable materials.
6.3
Connecting speakers
The SB118 enclosure can be driven and powered by both the dedicated
L ACOUSTICS
®
LA4
and
LA8
amplified
controllers. The LA4 can drive four SB118 enclosures (one per channel) and the LA8 can drive up to eight SB118
enclosures (2 per channel in parallel). Channel assignment varies according to the preset selected by the user for a given
application. For more details, please refer to the

The SB118 enclosure is equipped with two 4-point Speakon
®
connectors wired in parallel allowing connection with a
second SB118 enclosure in parallel using an
L ACOUSTICS

link cable.
The SB118 connects to the LA4 using the

SP25
cables (see Figure 2 and Figure 4), and to
the LA8 using the
DOSUB LA8
in conjunction with one of the
