(4) With CALL1 disconnected, press the CALL2 button to retrieve the call from hold.
Figure 7-30 shows the line 2 call in an active status. Note that SCROLL has been
removed from the display.

(5) When you have concluded your business, hang up in a normal manner.
b. If the call on line 2 needs to be transferred to another number/party, refer to Paragraph 7-3.6 .
If the call on line 2 needs to be connected in a conference with another number or the call on
line 1, refer to Paragraph

7-4. TRI-TAC VOICE CALLS
7-4.1 TRI-TAC - Initiating Calls
When initiating a secure call and configured for the TRI-TAC network, the STE provides you with the
capability to select the signaling mode to be used. Refer to sections 5-3.2.3/4 for a description of TRI-
TAC signaling mode selection.
The procedures herein assume that both STEs are connected on the TRI-TAC network.
1. Upon going off hook, the STE will display one of the menus shown below ( Figure 7-31 - Figure
7-33 ), depending on the Initial Mode Setting (Auto-Secure, Traditional, Secure-Only). For each
mode, follow the instructions in the table immediately below each menu to place a call.

Call Type Procedures
Non-secure Voice Go off-hook and press NONSEC , then enter the number you wish to call.
Secure Voice Go off hook and press NONSEC , then enter the number you wish to call.
After call is established, press SECVOICE . To view additional security information
about the call press, SCROLL . Information that cannot be validated (e.g., Caller
ID) is enclosed by parenthesis.
Secure Data Go off hook and press NONSEC , then enter the number you wish to call.
After call is established, press SECDATA . To view additional security information
about the call press, SCROLL . Information that cannot be validated (e.g., Caller
ID) is enclosed by parenthesis.
When the initiator of a call is strapped for Traditional, it is also possible to make secure calls between
TRI-TAC and PSTN STEs. The dialing procedure depends on the network configuration and on the
dialing process required by the associated network switch. See Paragraph
7-4.6 for details.
