Unpacking and checking your Kymera
Coupler and drive shab don’t
turn easily and/or board loses
power and/or drive shab is
genera=ng heat near rear of
board
There may be sand or other debris in the
motor or the drive shab bearings.
Hose the motor and the en=re drive shab and bearings
thoroughly which high pressure hose from the front (via
the front hatch) and the rear (via the rear hatch). If
problem persists, contact Kymera for assistance.
No display on baFery meter
when baFery is turned on
BaFery lead may not be properly connected. Turn off baFery, make sure lead is securely home and
turn back on baFery. Note that the baFery must be
turned off and on if the lead is removed.
BaFery is on and baFery meter
display is on, but pulling trigger
doesn’t engage the motor
If you’ve only just turned on the board, there
can be a lag before the motor engages.
Hold the trigger in for a few seconds. If s=ll no response,
turn the baFery off, wait 10 seconds and turn it back on.
Give the ebox 10 seconds to ac=vate and then try again.
Water is not flowing through the
motor cooling line outlet (right-
hand-side)
Motor or cooling lines may be blocked with
salt or disconnected inside the board or at
the jet nozzle.
Check that cooling line is connected properly. Check that
cooling line is clear using flush adapter and hose. If
problem persists, stop using the board immediately or
permanent damage may occur! Contact Kymera.
Water is not flowing through the
ebox cooling line outlet (leb-
hand-side)
Ebox cooling block or cooling lines may be
blocked with salt or disconnected inside the
board or at the jet nozzle.
Check that cooling line is connected properly. Check that
cooling line is clear using flush adapter and hose. If
problem persists, stop using the board immediately or
permanent damage may occur! Contact Kymera.
Water is visible in ebox
Electronics housing cover may be loose and
be allowing in water, or cooling lines or
speed controller cooling block may be
blocked with salt and the build-up of cooling
water pressure may have damaged the
cooling block.
Stop using the board immediately! Permanent damage
may have occurred! Ebox may require repair or
replacement. Contact Kymera.
Board is pulling to the leb or
right
Rider may not be centred on board.
Put elbows and knees into recesses in the board padding
and lib yourself gently off the board and back down onto
it.
Board is pulling to the leb or
right
Jet drive may be out of alignment.
Contact an Authorised Service Centre who may be able to
loosen drive shab moun=ng bolts and realign jet drive.
Board loses some power (but not
all)
Impeller or jet pump may have become
fouled with debris.
Op=on 1: Turn off and disconnect the baFery, get off the
board (in the water) and reach under to clear the debris.
Op=on 2: Paddle the board to shore (like a suryoard),
turn off and disconnect the baFery, turn the board over
and clear the debris. NEVER WORK ON THE JET WITH
THE POWER ON!
Board drops to 8-10kph, baFery
meter showing below 30%
Board has entered reserve mode.
This is a feature. You’re almost out of baFery and the
board wants to take you back to shore so you don’t need
to paddle!
Board cuts out, baFery is mostly
full, ebox upper blue LED is off
but lower red LED is on
The ebox has shut down the board to protect
it.
Reset the baFery by turning it off, wai=ng 10 seconds and
turning it back on. If the board beeps, wait 10 seconds
and cruise slowly back to shore. Check that the cooling
lines are flowing. Contact Kymera
Board cuts out, baFery is mostly
full, all ebox LEDs are off
The baFery management system has shut
down the baFery.
Turn off and disconnect the baFery, paddle to shore (like
a suryoard). Contact Kymera
Board cuts out, baFery is mostly
empty but not yet on reserve, all
ebox LEDs are off
One or more baFery cells may have reduced
capacity.
Reset the baFery by turning it off, wai=ng 10 seconds and
turning it back on. If the board beeps, wait 10 seconds
and cruise slowly back to shore. Contact Kymera.
Board has been running on
reserve and has now cut out on
the way back into shore, all LEDs
off
BaFery has completely run out of charge.
Do not con=nue to run the board on reserve mode for
any extended period of =me except to come into shore.
If the =me on reserve mode was very short, one or more
baFery cells may have reduced capacity, and you should
contact Kymera.
