Side stand
Your Xciting scooter is equipped with a center stand and a
side stand

Riding with the side stand not retracted can result in an
accident when you turn left.
Check operation of the side stand/ignition interlock sys-
tem before riding.
Always retract the side stand completely before start-
ing off.
Your scooter has an interlock safety switch which cuts off the
ignition if the side stand is down.
The side stand down indicator on the dash will light if the side
stand is left down and ignition switch is turned to ON " " .
The side stand/ignition interlock switch works as follows:

If the side stand is down, the engine can not be started.
•
If the engine is running and the side stand is put down, the
engine will stop running.

Always park your the scooter on firm, level ground to
help prevent it from falling over.
If you must park on an incline, aim the front of your
scooter uphill and place it on the center stand.
If you are parking a Xciting 500i / 500Ri model you can
use the side stand in combination with the parking
brake.
