IGNITION TIMING
Remove the ignition timing eye hole cap on the left
crankcase cover.
Warm up the engine and check the ignition timing
with a timing light.
When the engine is running at the specified rpm, the
ignition timing is correct if the “F” mark aligns with
the index mark on the crankcase within

THROTTLE OPERATION
Check for smooth throttle grip movement in all
steering positions.
Measure the throttle grip free play.
Free Play : 2

When major adjustment is required, adjust by turning
the adjusting nut on the carburetor cable from the
front carburetor.
Adjust by loosening the lock nut and turning the
adjusting nut. After adjustment, tighten the lock nut.
The CDI ignition timing is not adjustable, a kind
of fully transistor ignition.
If the timing is incorrect, check the CDI unit,
ignition coil and A.C. generator and replace any
faulty parts.
