Use of the cooking area
Please follow the safety instructions on page 8!
Each hob has its own control knob. These knobs can be set to positions 1
to 9. There is, however, a wide range of intermediate positions to choose
from.
The control knobs can be immerged when set at any chosen position. (This
is a way of preventing small children from playing with the control knobs).
The knobs re-emerge when pushed down briefly. The temperature cannot
be altered when the knobs are submerged.
If possible start the cooking process with the knob turned to the highest position
and then continue to cook on a lower position.
Adjusting the control knobs

Which are the best pots and pans?
You can save time and power by choosing the best pans.
Use pots and pans with flat, smooth bottoms.
Choose a pot or pan whose diameter fits the hotplate.
Features of the glass ceramic cooking area
Frying or dual circuit cooking zone
As a standard rule, the smaller cooking zone diameter is heated.
Change the control to the outer cooking zone circuit for frying pans or lar-
ger saucepans.
Turn the hotplate control to the right as far
as it will go.
Then set it to the required cooking setting.
Control to “0”:
Returns to the smaller diameter.
Hotplate heating indicators 1
The indicators are on for as long as the hotplates are still very hot –, even
after the hotplates have been switched off.
Caution!
The indicator can be defect (defect light bulb). You will not not be
warned when the hotplates are hot. Have the light bulb replaced immediately.
Warm zone
Some glass ceramic cooking areas are provided with a zone for keeping
warm. The warm zone is controlled via sensor buttons.
Switching on:
First touch sensor button 2, then
touch sensor button 3.
Operating controls are on.
Switching off:
Touch sensor button 4.
Warm zone indicator
The warm zone indicator 5 is on
when the warm zone is hot.
Caution! The indicator can be defect
(defect light bulb). You will now not
be warned when the warm zone is
hot. Have the light bulb replaced im-
mediately.
