LUBRICATION

Grease the following with SHELL Multi-purpose grease NLGI grade 2 :

Every 8 hours of use on the PTO shaft : yokes, bearings and drive tubes

Every 50 hours of use

- On the rotor :

tine arm bushing grease zerks (10 grease zerks)

one grease zerk accessible from the rear located between chassis and central gearbox

one grease zerk accessible after removing the hood ( 6 bolts M8) (photo 25, page 19)

also apply grease on the excentric (S) (photo 28, page 20) located below the hood (T) (photo 25, page 19).

- One grease zerk (G) on undercarriage (T) (see photo 40 page 26).

- Central drive shaft bearing (accessible through an opening below the chassis).

- Both grease zerks (fig. 6, page 12) of the rear safety guard hinges.

Regularly  clean  and  apply  a  “Never-Seize”  compound  to  the  removable  portion  of  the  tine

arms  to  ensure  easy  removal.

The central cam controlling tine arm movement is greased for life.

When necessary

, oil the swath screen pivot and all other machine joints.

TO  ENSURE  TROUBLE  FREE  OPERATION  OF  YOUR  MACHINE

WE  RECOMMEND  SHELL  LUBRICANTS.

PARKING

BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY OPERATION SUCH AS MAINTENANCE OR ADJUSTMENT ON

THE MACHINE, STOP THE TRACTOR ENGINE, REMOVE IGNITION KEY AND WAIT FOR THE

ROTOR TO STOP BEFORE LEAVING THE TRACTOR.

The

GA 3501 SUPER

 has a stand which permits

parking the machine in a stable position (photo 35)

and facilitates attaching and detaching operations.

To lower stand (A) to the vertical parking position

(photo 35) proceed as follows :

- take handle (S) of stand and pull it out until it reaches

its stop,

- pivot stand towards the ground. When it reaches the

vertical  position  it  will  slide  upwards  and  lock  in

place thanks to a built-in return spring.

Be sure that the PTO shaft (T) is always securely

located inside its support when machine is parked

(photo 35).
