2. Check to see if the engine's cooling fins are blocked
with dust and dirt. Clean them with compressed air
if required.

4. Checking the spark plug
Check the spark plug condition and gap every 100
hours of operation. Replace the spark plug annually.
1. Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
2. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the plug.
NOTE :
• This engine is equipped with a resistor-type
spark plug.
3. Inspect the spark plug for cracked porcelain, pitted
electrodes, or other wear and damage. Replace the
spark plug if necessary.

4. Check the spark plug gap with a gap gauge.

5. Checking the fuel filter
WARNING
To avoid serious injury or death:
• Be sure to stop the engine and remove the key
when attempting to make the following checks
and changes.
• Never fail to check the fuel lines periodically.
The fuel lines are subject to wear and aging.
Fuel may leak out onto the running engine,
causing a fire.
The fuel line is made of rubber and ages regardless of
service period.
