3.5. Service instructions for the CB9 control
unit
An electronic card inside the unit controls the tempe-
rature and time (set time) operations of the control
unit. The electrical power of the heater is connected
via two three-phase contactors of the unit. One of
these contactors is what is known as a safety contac-
tor, which cuts off all power in a fault situation or if
temperature in the sauna room is too high. Before
the control unit is switched back on, the factor cau-
sing the fault has to be investigated. Another simi-
lar contactor connects electrical power to the heater
by means of a temperature-monitoring thermostat
installed in the sauna room.
The electronic card is screwed to the lower part of
the box, so it can easily be replaced if the equipment
develops a fault. The replacing of the card is faster
and always a cheaper alternative to the entire de-
vice being disconnected from its cables and being
replaced.
The electronic card must be replaced, if:
•
the heater does not warm up, even though
power has been turned on from the main
switch (1), the sensor circuit leads of the
thermostat have been correctly connected, the
main fuse (32 mA) of the circuit, contactors and
heater resistors are intact
•
the fault cannot be located to an external
connection of the control unit
Similarly, the above mentioned contactors that are
screwed to the lower part of the unit are easy to rep-
lace if their contact tips develop a fault. A fault can be
detected when the contact tips of the contactor are
moving but one or more phases are not connected,
and only some of the heater resistors are glowing.
The contact tips of both contactors are connected in
series, thus making it possible to accurately define
the faulty contactor using only a measuring instru-
ment.
NOTE! Only a qualified electrician may replace the
electronic card and contactors of the control unit, by
following the necessary precautions!
3.5. Wartungsanleitung für das Steuergerät CB9
Eine Elektronikplatte innerhalb des Steuergeräts steu-
ert die Temperaturregelung und den Zeitbetrieb (Ein-
schalt zeit) des Steuergeräts. Die elektrische Leistung
des Ofens ist mit zwei 3-Phasen-Kontakt gebern im
Steuer gerät verbunden. Bei einem dieser beiden
Kontakt geber handelt es sich um einen Sicher heits-
kontak tor, der im Fall einer Betriebs stö rung oder
einer Über hitzung innerhalb der Sauna kabine die
Strom versorgung vollständig unterbricht. Bevor das
Steuer gerät wieder eingeschaltet wird, muss die
Ursache der Störung ermittelt werden. Ein weiterer
Kontakt geber leitet die elektrische Leistung zum
Ofen. Dabei wird die Temperatur über ein Thermos-
tat kontrolliert, das in der Saunakabine installiert
ist.
Die Elektronikplatte ist mit Schrauben am unteren Teil
des Gehäuses befestigt und leicht austauschbar, falls im
Betrieb des Geräts ein Fehler auftritt. Der Austausch der
Platte ist stets schneller und kostengünstiger als ein voll-
ständiger Abbau der Verkabelung für einen Aus tausch
des gesamten Geräts.
Die Elektronikplatte muss in folgenden Situationen
ausgetauscht werden:

tats sind korrekt installiert, die Hauptsicherun
gen (32mA) des Schaltkreises, der Kontaktge
ber und der Heizwiderstände sind intakt.

Verbindung des Steuergeräts hervorgerufen.
Die oben erwähnten Kontaktgeber, die mit Schrauben
am unteren Teil des Steuergeräts befestigt sind, können
ebenfalls leicht ausgetauscht werden, falls die Kontakt-
spitzen nicht ordnungsgemäß funktionieren. Eine
Störung liegt dann vor, wenn sich die Kontaktspitzen
zwar bewegen, ein oder mehrere Phasen jedoch nicht
verbunden sind und nur manche Heizwiderstände
glühen. Die Kontaktspitzen beider Kontaktgeber
sind in Reihe geschaltet. Somit kann der fehlerhafte
Kontaktgeber nur mit einem Messinstrument genau
bestimmt werden.
ACHTUNG! Der Austausch der Elektronikplatte
oder der Kontaktgeber des Steuergeräts darf nur
von einem Fachmann unter Beachtung der erfor-
derlichen Sicherheitsmaßnahmen durchgeführt
werden!
