19.2 Changing the engine oil and oil filter, cleaning the oil screens
Warning
Danger of scalding Engine and gear oil get very hot when the motorcycle is ridden.
–
Wear suitable protective clothing and safety gloves.
–
In the event of scalding, rinse the area affected immediately with lukewarm water.

Environmental hazard
Hazardous substances cause environmental damage.

Dispose of oils, grease, filters, fuel, cleaning agents, brake fluid, etc., correctly and in compliance with the applicable regula-
tions.
Preparatory work
–
Remove the engine guard. ( p. 167)

Main work
–
Stand the motorcycle on its side stand on a horizontal surface.
–
Place a suitable container under the engine.
–
Remove oil drain plugs 1 with the magnets, O-rings, and oil screens.
