1. Ground cable not connected properly
2. Worn, dirty, or incorrect size contact tip
1. Reconnect ground cable
2. Replace or clean contact tip

1. Work piece is too dirty, greasy, or rusty

NO SHIELDING GAS
1. Torch is not connected properly
2. Gas hose is blocked or kinked
3. Interior rubber gas hose disconnected
1. Reconnect torch
2. Check gas system and gas line
3. Connect gas hose and ensure firm connection
POROSITY IN METAL
1. Shielding gas cylinder is empty
2. Insufficient or excess shielding gas
3. Work piece is dirty
4. Incorrect polarity
5. Contaminated or dirty wire
1. Check cylinder and refill if necessary
2. Check regulator for proper flow
3. Clean work piece
4. Ensure correct polarity for operation. DCEP for MIG,
DCEN for Flux Cored
5. Ensure wire is clean and free of rust, replace if necessary
