11.0 Heating with Firewood.
The KSM Oxygen Control PCT300 is a further development, focussing on a better combustion of
firewood.
As long as there is firewood in the boiler, the stoker will be on stand-by and only feed a little pellets every

rd
minute in order to prevent the ember from creeping backwards through the screw tube.
In order to obtain the best utilization of your firewood you should only supplement with firewood when
you do have a heat consumption, such as during the wintertime, as it may cause problems to control the
temperature in periods with just a low heat consumption.
When using firewood as a supplement, it is particularly important that a draught stabilizer has been
mounted in the chimney.
The Oxygen Control Ver.6 has the following 3 new functions:
1.
Press ”ARROW UP + MENU”: Firewood programme is activated.
2. Press ”ARROW DOWN + MENU”: Firewood programme is deactivated.
3. TT (see section 6.13.2): Desired boiler temperature by firewood heating.
11.1 Mode Of Operation.
After filling in the firewood, press ”ARROW UP + MENU”, thus telling the control that firewood has
been filled in.
Now the control will operate according to the temperature “WOOD TEMP” (see section 6.7), the
combustion air fan will run at maximum output and the ”Undertemp” function has been switched off.
During the first 15 min, the control will be locked at the wood program and then the combustion air fan
will automatically adapt to requirements.
The combustion air fan will reach the set temperature”WOOD TEMP” and then switch to pause. As long
as the control operates in”WOOD TEMP” it will stay in pause until the temperature has dropped beneath
the chosen boiler temperature.
The combustion air fan will then start again, and the combustion continues until the “WOOD TEMP” has
again been reached. This procedure is repeated until the firewood has burnt. After this, the oxygen % will
rise and thus cause the control to switch to normal stoker operation.
Should you, in connection with ”WOOD”, wish to leave this mode of operation, just press ”ARROW
DOWN + MENU” and the stoker will continue in the normal way.
11.2 Firewood Volume.
The ideal firewood volume to be filled into the plant each time has been reached if the wood is nearly
used when the temperature TT has been obtained for the first time.
Only fill in more firewood again when the stoker is back in normal operation.
11.3 Wood fan.
If you wish to use wood as primary firewood, it would be an advantage to mount the fan extremism. It
gives a little extra air to achieve a better combustion. It is controlled automatically by the operation.
If using the external fan, you need to mount a storage tank on you plant.
