5.6 Back-filling and compacting the construction pit
CAUTION
Insufficient compacting of filling material
Sinking of the ground around the collecting tank!
▷
Before starting with the compaction, determine the compaction required.
▷
Do not use hydraulic compaction.
Collecting tank
CAUTION
One-sided pressure load on the collecting tank when back-filling the construction
pit
Damage to the collecting tank!
▷
Fill the collecting tank with water before back-filling the construction pit.
▷
Never use stones, shingle or coarse gravel as backfill material directly at the
collecting tank.

The piping has been properly connected. (
1. Fill the collecting tank with water.
2. Pour concrete with a cement content of 300 kg/m

into the pit in layers until
filling height H
min
has been reached (see table above). The upper edge of the
concrete base (2) has to be at least 100 mm above the anti-lift grouting collar
(4).
ð
For a filling height H
min
> 1 m: Pour concrete until a filling height of 1 m has
been reached. Then allow the concrete to set. Repeat this procedure until the
filling height H
min
has been reached.
3. Allow the concrete to set.
