After the unit has been tripped by the thermal cutouts, it needs
to be overhauled.
The pumps will only satisfy explosion protection requirements if
the built-in temperature switches (temperature control and tem-
perature limiting devices) are connected in the control cabinet
in accordance with the wiring diagram below.

Description of winding temperature monitoring on non-
explosion-proof model (UL and WL)
The winding is protected by one temperature monitoring circuit
(bimetal switch with conductor marking 21, 22). This circuit
switches off the pump if the maximum permissible winding tem-
perature is reached and re-starts it automatically after the pump
has cooled down. The temperature control devices must be
connected in the control cabinet.
Conductor 20 is connected to a dummy terminal.
5.5.1.2 Moisture detection (optional)
Motor moisture detection
Low-voltage supply: max. 48 V.
If moisture penetrates into the motor space, an earth leakage
current will flow from the built-in moisture sensor (conductor
marking 9) to earth. The monitoring relay K1 will trip the motor.
The pump needs to be overhauled every time the relay has
tripped the pump.
An insulation resistance test must be performed: If the insula-
tion resistance measured is less than 1 M
at 500 V, the motor
must be opened and overhauled.
K1 = Relay for monitoring liquid levels
(e.g. Télémécanique RM4-LG01 or equivalent product)
5.5.2
Frequency inverter operation
Use only frequency inverters where the motor current is limited
to 1.5 times the nominal current.
Permissible operating range: 30-50 Hz
5.5.3
Fitting the power cable
After the pump set has been installed, the power cable should
be led upwards with as little slack as possible, to prevent dam-
age caused by flow-induced motion.
5.5.4
Overload protection
The motor must be protected against overloading by a thermal
time-lag overload protection device in accordance with VDE
0660. This device must be set to the rated motor current, which
is indicated on the name plate.
