While driving forward, set the tractor valve for the steering axle to "Lower" so that the wheels
can adjust freely to the trajectory of curves.
The steering axle must be locked when travelling forward if the lateral guiding of the non-
steered front axle is not sufficient, for example:
• on slopes
• on soil that is not solid enough
• if load on the first axle has been released by operation with offset drawbar
• when driving over silos
• for driving straight ahead at faster speeds above 30 km/h with the wagon loaded.
To do this, charge the locking cylinder until the steered wheels are in position for driving straight
ahead. During forward travel with the steering axle locked, leave the pressure on the hydraulic
connection. An indicator light on the control panel indicates that the locking cylinder is
pressurised and, therefore, the steering axle is locked.
Before moving backward,
first move the rear axle wheels to a straight position if they are turned.
Then charge the locking cylinder with air until the steered wheels are in position for driving
straight ahead. It may be necessary to drive straight forward or backward a short distance.
While driving in reverse, leave the pressure on the hydraulic connection.
