ADJUSTMENT
11.2.3 Restrictor
WARNING: To avoid property damage or personal injury, allow
the fireplace ample time to cool before making any adjustments.
After fireplace installation is complete, a restrictor (included in
the fireplace component packet) may be required, removed, or
modified. Allow the fireplace to burn for 15 minutes before making
any adjustments.

* Improper venting installation may cause flames to lift or “ghost” - a
dangerous situation. Visually inspect flames after installation to ensure
proper performance. If determined that venting is correct, and the
restrictor has been opened, yet flames are still lifting or ghosting, shut
off gas supply to fireplace and call a qualified service technician.
If it is determined that a restrictor is needed or restrictor
modification is required after the vent termination is installed,
access can be reached by removing the fireplace baffle.
1. Remove the safety barrier and glass frame assembly.
2. Remove (4) screws securing the fireplace baffle.
3. If a restrictor is already installed, make necessary
modifications as determined by Table 11.5. Remove restrictor
by pulling it down and out of the 4 in exhaust pipe.
4. If a restrictor is necessary, bend the tabs on the restrictor to
approximately 80° to create tension when inserted into the
exhaust pipe. Insert restrictor into the 4 in exhaust pipe with
the tabs pointing down.
5. Reinstall the fireplace baffle using (4) screws previously
removed.
6. Reinstall the glass frame assembly and safety barrier. Wait 15
minutes before determining if any further modifications are
necessary.
