Korg KPR-77 MIDI Interface - Installation Instructions

Remove any batteries if they are installed, and remove the 7 screws on the underneath of the

drum machine.

Gently lift off the top half of the case and disconnect the 2 ribbon cables and 3 cable connectors

that join the top and bottom halves of the case. (They will still be joined by the wires going to the

power switch)

Unscrew and remove the board labelled KLM-448A. It is located in the left hand side of the

bottom case. Disconnect the ribbon cable in the bottom left of the board.

Separate and fan out the wires from the supplied 14-way ribbon cable. Strip the wires and tin

the ends with solder. Although not strictly necessary, the installation will be a lot neater if you

cut the wires increasingly shorter towards the stripe end. This is best done by cutting each

wire after soldering the previous, starting with the non-stripe end (pin 14 of CN07).

Note:

The images shown here have a multi-

coloured ribbon cable, whereas the

cable supplied with the kit is grey, with

a red strip denoting pin 1.

This does not matter, as the wires

connect to CN07 on the KLM-448A

board in sequence.

Red stripe denotes pin 1

1 ----------- CN07 ----------- 14
