SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
A. GENERAL
A.
- Ensure a level and load-bearing substrate
A.
- First carry out a visual inspection to ensure that the product, base
A.
-
plate and load are complete and visibly in order
A.
-
Damaged parts must not be used and should be replaced or
A.
-
repaired
A.
- Assembly, loading and handling only by adequate personnel
A.
-
(technically and physically suitable persons)
A.
- Careful handling is required, as the adjustment possibilities involve
A.
-
the risk of trapping (wear protective gloves if necessary)
A.
- For indoor use only
B.1 LOAD BEARING CAPACITY and B.2 STABILITY
Both cannot be separated from each other
and also always refer to the complete
INSTALLATION (= combination of base plate,
INSTALLATION (=
distance rod and load capacity)
1. Max. 18 kg when centric load, subject to:
2. 5° tilting test according to DGUV 17, 18, test conditionsn:
2.
The installation is adjusted deliberately as unfavourable as possible
2.
(max. height, load placed off-centre, if applicable) uand should not
2.
fall over on a plane inclined 5°.
WARNING!
2.
When carrying out this test safety must be ensured, that implies
2.
timely interception of the installation, barriers, safety ropes
2.
(call in qualified personnel if necessary)
NOTE:
2.
The 5° tilt test shows how well the installation resists possible
2.
lateral forces (wind, impacts).
2.
It does NOT mean that installation is allowed to operate on a up
2.
to 5° inclined floor level. In fact, only level floors are permitted.
MEASURES to ensure STABILITY:
2.
- Make sure the floor is level and stable
2.
- Prevent lateral forces (wind, impacts)
2.
- Reduce height (retract distance rod)
2.
- Reduce the weight of the load
2.
- Rope down
2.
- Keep unauthorized persons away from the installation
Basically, the installation must not be at risk to tip over - even when
the setting is most unfavourable.
C. ASSEMBLY, OPERATION, DISASSEMBLY
INSTALLATION:
2.
- The screw connection between distance rod and base plate must
2.
-
always be pushed until stop
3.a
2.
- Check the strength of this connection regularly
OPERATION:
2.
- Always load the distance rod centrically, as eccentric loads
2.
-
impair the stability
2.
- The spring-loaded bolt
13
must always be engaged and
2.
-
the clamping screw
14
must be firmly tightened
2.
- Never loosen spring-loaded bolts and clamping screws unchecked,
2.
-
i.e. in this case the pull-out tube should always be held by a
2.
-
suitable person
7
DISMANTLING:
2.
- First remove load from the extension tube and then unscrew the
2.
-
distance rod from the subwoofer
D. RISK OF SIDE FORCES
Lateral forces must be absolutely avoided, they:
a
increase the risk of tipping and
b
generate large leverage forces, which result in a heavy strain on the
b
threads of the Distance rod and on the base plate especially if the
b
threads are not screwed together gap-free, and therefore always
b
make sure that the screw connection is tightened firmly.
Lateral forces arise (often unintentionally) from:
c
off centre of load balance
d
shocks, contacts, vibrations, wind and uneven, sloping surfaces
e
the attempt to tug around the loaded installation
1
Remove the distance rod from the box
2
Screw the clamping screw into the clamp
3
Screw the base tube with the threaded bolt M20
3
firmly into the base plate until stop.
3.a WARNING!
3.a
No gap is allowed between tube and plate.
3.a
Check regularly screw connection and
3.a
retighten if necessary.
