Operation

8.2.1

Overview

• When a laser beam strikes the polygon mirror, light reflected off the Polygon Mirror is 

directed at the drum by way of the lens and return mirror.

• The polygon mirror has four faces, being turned at high speeds by the polygon motor.
• The sos mirror and sos sensor keep constant the timing, at which emission of a laser 

beam is started for each main scanning line.
