U21,U37 and U38 to U41,U500 to U503 (radar video memory) processes the video, sweep
integration, coordinate axis conversion.
The separate trigger is fed to TRIG-OUT line. The video signal is fed to the video buffer U93 and
output video for VIDEO-OUT.
(2) Video Display
The U37 decode serial data of operation keys to parallel data for CPU. The ACRTC (Advanced
CRT Graphic display controller),U513 control Graphic memory U11,U22,U2,U29,U30,U51.There
are fourteen (14) memory chips in the display system.
Six(6) memory chips,U11,U22,U2,U29,U30,U51 are used for marker, character display, and
eight(8) memory chips, U38 to U41,U500 to U503 are used for radar image and track function.
U57 convert parallel video data of graphic and radar video memory into serial video data. U57
mix graphic video and radar video and U57 control brilliance of mixed video.
These LSI are controlled by CPU, U18 and software programmed in U87and U96.The U74 is
RAM(Random Access memory) for data memory.
Battery, BT1 is back up power supply for U74, RAM. The system setting is stored at each time
setting is changed.
The FMS3818, U42 is video D/A converter. U42 convert 8bits RGB digital video signal of mixed
graphic and radar video to analog RGB video signal for CRT monitor. The OPA692, U506 to U
U508 are video buffer amp for VDR video signal. The DS90C387A, U95 convert digital RGB
video signal to LVDS signal for LCD unit.
2.2.3 PANEL PCB (E40-901C)
(1) Panel dimmer control
The DS1 to DS36 are operation key illumination LED. They are controlled by Q2.
(2) Sift Resistor
The U1 to U3, U7 are sift resistor. They encode operation key condition to 32 bits serial data.
Serial data send to U37 on main logic board and decode it. Decoded operation key data read by
CPU.
SRDATA, STB and SCK are control signal for sift resistor. SRDATA is encoded data of operation
key. STB is load signal. SCK is clock signal.
(3) Operation keys
The S2 to S23 are contact switch for operation key. The S24 and S25 are rotary encoder for EBL
and VRM.

DS16 is controlled by Q1. R9 is joystick.
2.2.4 ATA PCB (E35-700C)
(1) Radar interface
The FPGA, U9 is a Field Programmable Logic Array for radar interface circuit. The U9 controls
the radar interface dual-port RAM, U7, and video buffer memory U10, U11, and U12. The control
command and control data between radar and ATA are transferred through the U7.
The video, trigger, azimuth, and heading information from the radar are all digital data such as "1"
or "0". The video signal threshold control is carried out in radar system.
(2) CPU system
The KCD63, U2 is a CPU for ATA system. The ATA software is stored in program memory, U4,
and working with memories, U5, and U6. The program memory is a "Flash memory”. The
uPD4721, U3 is an interface IC for serial interface that used for debugging data output and
programming the ATA software into U4.
2.2.5 AIS PCB (E47-7200)
(1) Radar interface
The AIS PCB and the radar communicate through the dual-port RAM interface, U10. The control
command and control data between radar and AIS are transferred through the U10.
(2) AIS data interface
The AIS data is transferred with IEC61162-2 floated RS422 serial data from the external AIS
system to the radar. The serial data is received by the floated RS422 circuit on the LOGIC PCB
and connected it to the serial port of the CPU on the AIS PCB. The AIS CPU process the data
