RS-422 serial line connection using five wires
An RS-422 serial line connection is a common way to connect the echo sounder system
to external devices. This format is recommended if the serial cable needs to be very long.
An RS-422 serial line connection can transmit data at rates as high as 10 million bits per
second, and may be sent on cables as long as 1500 meters.
Note
This connection is specific for the Nexcom NISE 3900E computer.

If you wish to use RS-422 or RS-485 serial communication, use a cable with twisted
pairs. If you need to install a very long cable, increase the cross section.
