CHECKING, CLEANING OR CHANGING
THE AIR CLEANER CARTRIDGE
DANGER
•
Remove the air cleaner only after stopping the engine and
do not start the engine if the air cleaner is open.
•
Wear safety goggles during the cleaning operations.
IMPORTANT
☞
•
When the red piston of the clogging indicator (1) is visible
through the gauge, clean or change the air cleaner car-
tridge.
In any case, check the cartridge for any clogging every 50
hours of operation of the machine.
The air cleaner (2) can be reached by opening the engine hood
(see “3.5.1 ENGINE HOOD”).
To clean the element, proceed as follows:
1 - Remove the couplings (3), remove the cover (4) and extract
the filtering element (5).
2 - Slightly strike the filtering element on the palm of your hand
to remove the dust and blow compressed air on the inner sur-
face, keeping the air jet at a distance of approximately 15 cm
and making sure that the pressure does not exceed 45 bars.
3 - Carefully clean the clogging cover (4) and the filter case (6),
taking care to prevent the introduction of foreign matters in
the suction pipe; reassemble the whole making sure that the
ejector on the covers is facing downwards.
4 - Press the push button (7) of the clogging indicator (1) in order
to restore the pressure of the red piston.
IMPORTANT
☞
•
If shortly after the installation of the clean element the red
piston of the clogging indicator is visible again, it is nec-
essary to change the filtering element.
•
Change the filtering element when it has been cleaned 5
times or after 1 year of use.
