CHANGING THE OIL IN THE FINAL REDUCTION GEARS
WARNING
q
As soon as the machine has been stopped the oil is very hot and may cause burns; let the oil cool down
until reaching 40÷45°C before changing it.
q
Loosen the cap slowly to release any residual pressure.
q
Oils, filters, the coolant and the battery are considered special waste and must be collected and dis-
posed of according to the regulations in force.
This operation must be carried out on each reduction gear with the machine parked on level ground and at a tem-
perature of 40-45°C, so that the oil becomes fluid and can be drained easily, which facilitates the elimination of any
suspended solid particles.
1.
Move the machine until the drain plug (P) is in low position
and perpendicular to the ground.
2.
Remove the drain plug (P) and let the used oil flow out com-
pletely, gathering it into a container with suitable capacity.
While the oil flows out, remove the level plug (G).
3.
Once the oil has been drained, put back the plug (2) and pour
oil of the prescribed type through the hole (G), until reaching
the lower edge of the hole itself.
4.
Put back the plug (G).
Carry out some forward and backward movements, stop the ma-
chine and check the levels again. Always use oil of the prescribed
type (see "4.4 FUEL, COOLANT AND LUBRICANTS").
