3.6.5 HOW TO MOVE THE MACHINE
WARNING
q
Before moving the machine, make sure that you know
the control functions and all the relevant safety regula-
tions perfectly.
q
The operator must be seated in the driving position with
fastened safety belt and must have checked the position
of the rear-view mirrors.
q
Before moving the machine, make sure that there is no
one within the range of movement of the machine and
that there are no obstacles in the surrounding area.
q
Be extremely careful when engaging the reverse and
make sure that there are no persons, other equipment or
obstacles in the way.
q
The brake pedals must be connected with the special
pin provided for this purpose.
Before moving the machine, check the instruments, warm up
the engine, heat the hydraulic oil, and make sure that the sta-
bilizers have been raised and that both the front bucket and
the backhoe are in transport position.
The control levers must be in the neutral position (N).
At this point, release the parking brake.
Proceed as follows:
1 - Select the travel direction, by shifting the control lever (1)
forward (F) or backward (R).
2 - Select the gear by means of the gearshift lever (2).
3 - Accelerate gradually using the accelerator pedal.
IMPORTANT
q
The travel direction must be selected with the engine at
low rpm, in order to avoid abrupt accelerations.
q
For the operation of the gearshift and its functions, see
"3.3.6 pos. 5 - GEARSHIFT LEVER".
q
To shift gears, it is necessary to operate the declutch
button (see "3.3.6 pos. 10 - DECLUTCH PUSH BUT-
TON").
q
If it is necessary to shift down, first reduce the engine
rpm and then shift down.
q
If it is necessary to reverse, slow down by putting on the
brakes before operating the reversing gear lever.
