Conditions of Acceptability - These motors are for use only in applications where the
acceptability of the combination has been determined by UL.
The features which should be considered in determining the acceptability of these motors
in specific applications are indicated below.
1. This Report covers only the general construction features on the motors per the Stan-
dard for Rotating Electrical Machines - General Requirements, First Edition, issued Sep-
tember 15, 2008, UL 1004-1, and no evaluation of the performance characteristics has
been made. Therefore, the acceptability of these motors when operated under normal or
abnormal load conditions within an appliance or enclosure must be determined for each
use.
2. The Recognition of the motors covered by this Report is based upon the assurance of
the manufacturer that the specific motor model number will change if any significant con-
struction variations are made. Because of this, it is necessary that the complete motor
model be included in the appliance Report, along with the complete nameplate electrical
ratings and significant construction features that can be determined by inspection, without
disassembly of the motor.
3. This Report does not cover the investigation of any motor-protector combination.
4. The motor mounting means must be evaluated for each end-use application.
5. Where motor leads are terminated in connectors the acceptability of the connectors
must be determined in the end-use application. Where the connectors are mounted on
the motor, the means of mounting must also be evaluated. The model number of the con-
nectors are included in this Report.
6. For models without connectors, the suitability of the means for motor connection must
also be evaluated in the end-use application.
7. Motors may employ a LVLE (Low Voltage Limited Energy) feedback option such an
encoder or resolver. The acceptability of these options must be determined in the
end-use application.
8. Spacings in the LVLE circuits have not been specified.
9. This Report also covers motor constructions which may consist of motor parts only.
This indicates an incomplete form of motor construction. The construction will always
consist of a fully wound stator, rotor and frame assemblies. Bearing brackets, shaft and
the like, shall be provided by the end-user. In motor constructions of this type, it is neces-
sary that the end use appliance engineer determine that suitable spacings are provided
between motor windings and all other parts supplied by the end user.
