13. Caulk the Shower Doors
CAUTION: Risk of property damage.
Apply caulk or silicone sealant around the outside of the frame
only. Applying caulk or silicone sealant to the inside of the door will cause leakage and damage.
CAUTION: Risk of property damage.
After completing the installation, follow the sealant
manufacturer’s recommended drying time before using the shower. This will allow the panel
adhesive to properly cure.
Thoroughly clean and dry the shower ledge and the bottom track of the shower door.
NOTE:
Refer to the caulk or silicone sealant manufacturer’s instructions for proper caulking techniques.
Apply a 3/16
″
(5 mm) bead of caulk or silicone sealant around the outside of the frame where the
bottom track meets the shower receptor, corner brackets meet the shower receptor, wall jamb meets
the shower receptor, and wall jamb meets the wall.
Follow the sealant manufacturer’s recommended drying time before using the shower.
