Standard-Transition Transfer Switches
1. Disable the generator set to prevent starting and
disconnect all power sources before manually
operating the transfer switch.
2. Remove the maintenance handle from the clip(s)
on the left side of the transfer switch frame. See
Figure 2-4.

Slide the hub onto the shaft and
insert the maintenance handle into the hole in the
hub until the spring is fully compressed.
4. Move the maintenance handle as shown to
manually operate the transfer switch. It should
operate smoothly without any binding. If it does not,
check for shipping damage or construction debris.
5. Return the transfer switch to the Normal position.
6. Remove the maintenance handle and store it on the
transfer switch in the clips provided.
Note:
Verify that the maintenance handle has been
removed before proceeding.
