A f t e r a d j u s t m e n t i s m a d e , engage c l u t c h a n d c h e c k t o m a k e s u r e r o l l e r s go o v e r c e n t e r t o l o c k the
unit in engaged p o s i t i o n a n d p r e v e n t r e l e a s i n g u n d e r load. If t r o u b l e p e r s i s t s a f t e r r e a d j u s t m e n t ,
c l u t c h reconditioning i s indicated.
Reconditioning: D r a i n o i l a n d r e m o v e n a m e p l a t e and p r o c e e d a s f o l l o w s :
1.
R e m o v e c a p s c r e w s ( 2 ) f r o m c l u t c h yoke a n d r e m o v e s p a c e r s .
R e m o v e c r o s s s h a f t .
3.
R e m o v e h o u s i n g
( 4 ) a n d s l i d e housing off.
4.
L o o s e n b o l t s s e c u r i n g c l u t c h u n i t to c r a n k s h a f t t h e n r e m o v e locking s c r e w .
5.
P u l l u n i t off.

CLUTCH -GEAR REDUCTION
The c o m b i n e d c l u t c h - g e a r r e d u c t i o n unit u t i l i z e s a d r y type c l u t c h which i s linked through chain
s p r o c k e t d r i v e t o a g e a r r e d u c t i o n unit which r u n s in oil. S e r v i c e the s e p a r a t e units a s follows a t 50
h o u r i n t e r v a l s :
Clutch: Open l u b r i c a t i o n c o v e r p l a t e ( m a r k e d ) on s i d e of c l u t c h housing and lightly l u b r i c a t e the
c o l l a r . If c l u t c h s l i p p a g e o r o v e r h e a t i n g
is
noted, r e a d j u s t c l u t c h a s follows: Remove n a m e -
p l a t e , r e l e a s e c l u t c h then (using l a r g e s c r e w d r i v e r ) t u r n c o l l a r c l o c k w i s e one notch a t a t i m e until
f i r m p r e s s u r e i s r e q u i r e d t o engage c l u t c h (40- 45 pounds f o r c e a t l e v e r h a n d l e ) . Do not p r y o r f o r c e
s p r i n g l o c k nor l o o s e n a d j u s t m e n t r i n g when r e a d j u s t i n g . Make s u r e r o l l e r s go o v e r c e n t e r t o l o c k
position when c l u t c h i s e n g a g e d .
G e a r Reduction: A f t e r e a c h 50 h o u r s , d r a i n old o i l f r o m u n i t and r e f i l l with
