Clean the Screen/Replace the Piston
NOTE:
A screen (part of the piston assembly) is provided to keep
debris from clogging the bleed hole. The screen may require
periodic cleaning.
Close the control stop valve.
NOTE:
If the unit has not flushed since the stop valve was closed,
the inlet arm may still be pressurized. Use the manual flush button
to release pressure.
Using a 3/32
″
hex wrench, remove the setscrew from the cap.
Remove the cap from the valve body.
Pull the connectors apart to disconnect the DC sensor connector
from the solenoid connector.
Temporarily store the cap and DC sensor in a safe place.
Using a large adjustable wrench, remove the large retaining nut
from the valve body.
Gently pull the solenoid up, then remove the piston cover from
the valve body.
Gently brush and rinse all debris from the screen on the piston. If
required, use vinegar to remove hard water deposits.
NOTE:
Replace the piston as a complete assembly only. The piston
and screen are not serviced separately.
