TROUBLESHOOTING
Before calling for service, try the suggestions below to see whether you can solve your problem without outside help.
Hot water dispenser will not operate
■
The power supply cord is unplugged.
Plug into grounded
3 prong outlet. See “Electrical Requirements.”
■
A household fuse has blown, or circuit breaker has
tripped.
Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. If the
problem continues, call an electrician. See “Electrical
Requirements.”
■
Water supply valve is closed.
Open the water supply valve.
■
Temperature Control is not turned to Max.
Turn the
Temperature Control to Max for best performance.
■
The local power has failed.
Wait for power to be restored.
■
The grounded 3 prong outlet is operated by a switch.
Turn
on the switch.
Hot water dispenser blows fuses or trips circuit breakers
■
Too many appliances are being used on the same circuit.
Unplug or relocate appliances that share the same circuit.
Water is not hot
■
The power supply cord is unplugged.
Plug into grounded
3 prong outlet. See “Electrical Requirements.”
■
A household fuse has blown, or circuit breaker has
tripped.
Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. If the
problem continues, call an electrician. See “Electrical
Requirements.”
■
The Temperature Control is not turned to Max.
Turn the
Temperature Control to Max for best performance.
■
The local power has failed.
Wait for power to be restored.
■
The grounded 3 prong outlet is operated by a switch.
Turn
on the switch.
■
Water in the hot water dispenser tank is heating.
Wait
15 minutes before checking water temperature.
Vapor near faucet, water is too hot, boiling water noise
■
Temperature Control setting is too high.
Turn the
Temperature Control to a lower setting.
NOTE:
At higher altitudes, set the Temperature Control to a
lower setting to avoid boiling water.
Hot water drips or sputters from faucet
■
Tube is bent or kinked.
Straighten tube.
■
Temperature Control is set too high.
Turn Temperature
Control to a lower setting.
■
Tube is not installed correctly.
See “Install the Faucet” and
“Install the Tank.”
Water does not flow from faucet
■
Water supply valve is closed.
Open the water supply valve.
■
Tube is kinked.
Straighten all tubes.
■
Water pressure is too low.
Water pressure to hot water
dispenser should be 20 psi (138 kPa) minimum.
Water has unpleasant taste
■
Hot water dispenser is attached to hot water supply line.
Attach hot water dispenser to cold water supply line.
■
Not enough water is dispensed daily (dispenser is not
used for 3 or more days or only 1 to 3 cups is dispensed in
a day).
Purge the water from the hot water dispenser by
holding the cap in the open position for 2 to 3 minutes to
purge the tank of old water. Wait approximately 15 minutes
before dispensing the water to allow fresh water to reach the
maximum temperature.

Water supply needs a filtration system.
Install a filtration
system on the cold water supply line.
Water flows slowly from faucet, less than
¹⁄₂
gal. (1.9 L)
per minute
■
Water filtration system is reducing water pressure.
Water
pressure to hot water dispenser should be 20 psi (138 kPa)
minimum
.
Electrical Shock Hazard
Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
Do not remove ground prong.
Do not use an adapter.
Do not use an extension cord.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death,
fire, or electrical shock.
