4. Hold the equipment securely to the ground with your left hand (Fig. 15).
5. Pull the recoil starter handle (5) slowly with your right hand until you feel a definite
resistance and then give it a brisk, strong pull. Repeat until the engine starts (Fig. 15).
After starting the engine
1. Leave the engine running at idling speed for 1 to 2 minutes for the warm-up.
2. Press the throttle control lock-out (7) and then slowly press the throttle control (9)
to increase the engine speed.
3. Check if the cutting device (1) stops moving when you release the throttle control (9).
Stopping the engine
1. Release the throttle control (9) and let the equipment run in idle for a while.
2. Set the stop switch (11) to
STOP
.
WARNING!
The cutting device (1) continues to move for some time after the
engine has been switched off. Wait until the cutting device comes to a complete
stop before setting the equipment on the ground.
Trimming tips
WARNING!
When operating the equipment, always keep the exhaust outlet (20)
away from your body (Fig. 18-23).
NOTE:
Always keep the cutting device (1) at an angle of approximately 15
°
to the cutting surface.
> Cut and remove branches exceeding the cutting capacity of this equipment (27 mm)
using a proper pruner before operation.
> Adjust the rear handle (6) so that it fits the intended cut.
> Start the equipment as described. Press the throttle control lock-out (7), hold it
in position and then press the throttle control (9) to engage the cutter blades (2).
Operate the engine at full throttle to maintain a proper cutting speed.
